Barefoot on the Beach…

Barefoot on the Beach…

At NILA Destinations we love that phrase; it conjures up an image of relaxation, toes in the sand, waves gently lapping… That’s exactly what Kristin and Miguel experienced for their wedding. It was just the couple and Kristin’s mum for their big day, so they chose a stretch of sand far from the nearest hotel for their ceremony. With nobody wandering by they had the beach to themselves! A fabulous sunset helped to finish off the day. Thanks to Ileana at Attimi Photography for capturing all the special moments  (I particularly...

Pirates and Machetes? Not your typical wedding…

Each wedding is distinctive in its own way but Leslie and Richard’s had a couple of touches that don’t necessarily spring to mind when you think about a wedding day… It’s not every bride and groom that have their picture taken with a pirate! After an intimate ceremony on a quiet stretch of beach, with water so still it was like glass behind them, out came the Champagne to toast their celebrations and with a flourish Richard used a machete to open the bottle – clearly inspired by his new marauder...

Personality Filled Pictures!

We get to see a lot of wedding photos here, of course – actually it’s one of the things we look forward to – we can’t wait to see all the moments from the big day captured perfectly! Michael and Mara are both musical theatre performers and have lots of friends in the same business, so we knew this would be a wedding with a lot of great dancing, but just take a look at the photos from Brilliant Studios – there’s so much personality in every picture… After their wedding on Grace Bay beach at Sibonne,...

Everlasting Wedding Memories…

I’ll bet you were thinking of photography when you read the title, right?! Not in this case! These unusual bouquets and boutonnieres – hand made in the Turks & Caicos – look fantastic on your wedding day and also make great souvenirs. Creative combinations of silk, ribbon, crystals and shells mean these unique accessories last forever, and, with a bit of careful packing, can make it safely back with you – great news when often your home country won’t allow you to bring real flowers back (even if your floral...

There MUST be fireworks!

There MUST be fireworks!

I first met Stacey and Brian, and Stacey’s mom and dad, when they visited Provo to check out options for their wedding. They were excited, friendly and fun – just how we like ‘em! Stacey had some great ideas for the big day, but one thing she really wanted was her ‘very own’ fireworks, so we knew we had to make that happen! The day dawned and despite a short power outage that had us a bit nervous, Stacey took it all in her stride and was relaxed and happy. I was really looking forward to seeing her in her dress as...

Perfect timing, Mary!

Perfect timing, Mary!

Here at NILA Destinations we love it when we get to meet our couples on a trip here before their wedding. This time we scored a double whammy! Luise met with Amy and Jeremy, as she will be helping them plan their wedding next year. Shortly after that it was off to a quiet beach with Andy from Brilliant, where, quite by coincidence, they met Mary, who produced a Champagne toast! (She’s good like that!) It’s great when visiting couples get to have an advance shoot with their photographer, as by the time their wedding day comes around...
