The Secret Behind the Mona Lisa Smile…

The great thing about small weddings is that they open up so many venue opportunities. Brittianie and Joe decided they wanted to say their vows at their chosen villa in Chalk Sound, and as you’ll see from the pictures, very much in Chalk Sound – with feet in the water the whole time! It had been a cloudy overcast day, but the sunset made the sky amazing and Ileana from Attimi Photography made the most of it. Brittianie and Joe were happy to scramble into a kayak and onto an old boat to get some unusual photos. After the ceremony they had a private chef cater for them – even bringing Champagne and canapes down to the beach. Oh, and the secret behind the Mona Lisa smile? In every picture you’ll see a beautiful smiling bride, but behind the...

Barefoot on the Beach…

At NILA Destinations we love that phrase; it conjures up an image of relaxation, toes in the sand, waves gently lapping… That’s exactly what Kristin and Miguel experienced for their wedding. It was just the couple and Kristin’s mum for their big day, so they chose a stretch of sand far from the nearest hotel for their ceremony. With nobody wandering by they had the beach to themselves! A fabulous sunset helped to finish off the day. Thanks to Ileana at Attimi Photography for capturing all the special moments  (I particularly like the ones of Kristin swirling on the sand in her gorgeous dress – isn’t that what we did when we were little girls pretending to be princesses? Or was that just me?!). Take a look to see Kristin and...

Pirates and Machetes? Not your typical wedding…

Each wedding is distinctive in its own way but Leslie and Richard’s had a couple of touches that don’t necessarily spring to mind when you think about a wedding day… It’s not every bride and groom that have their picture taken with a pirate! After an intimate ceremony on a quiet stretch of beach, with water so still it was like glass behind them, out came the Champagne to toast their celebrations and with a flourish Richard used a machete to open the bottle – clearly inspired by his new marauder friend… Thanks to Paradise Photography for these fun shots of the happy couple!

Can I Book a Beach for Two, Please?

Andrea and Scott wanted a quiet area of the beach for their ceremony so we took them to a place away from the resorts where there are usually less people – and in this case they had the whole beach to themselves! They certainly made the most of it, with James from Paradise Photography there to capture the happy couple in stunning surroundings and with another one of our gorgeous Provo sunsets as backdrop…

Sailing into the sunset…

Many of our weddings take place on Grace Bay beach – and why not? It is the most beautiful beach in the world, if we say so ourselves! But Jolyn & Rick wanted something a little different. They boarded Beluga for an idyllic sail around to a deserted beach that we had scoped out the day before (see here for details!). Once there, Luise was wardrobe assistant for Jolyn to change into her dress before the ceremony! This was a wedding full of smiles, laughter and fun, with Jon from eyeSpice there to capture each moment, including an unplanned swim and a heavenly...
