Dancing, dancing, dancing, dinner and back to the dancing!

Kerry and Nick’s wedding day started calmly – even a bridesmaid dress with a broken zip didn’t faze Kerry! However, after the ceremony on the beach, with smiles all round, the guests were ready to party. They started dancing as soon as they got to the reception and barely stopped to taste dinner! The evening ended up with a few guests ‘cooling off’  in the pool and people saying they’d never seen Nick as relaxed as he was at his reception. Take a look at the day’s events here.

Wedding Tip 1 – invite great dancers!

It isn’t always possible for the bride and groom to visit the island, but Melissa and Chris wanted to check everything out before they made their wedding plans. I’m glad they did; they are a really great couple and the moment I met them I knew I would love working with them! Time flew past and after many chats and emails they were back and ready to enjoy their celebrations. Friends and family joined them for a sunset sail and beach barbecue the evening before the wedding – a great way for guests to mingle and catch up – and then the big day arrived. We didn’t have the blue skies we had hoped for but the rain stayed away and nobody got wet – until the guests jumped, fully clothed,  into the pool at the reception! Definitely a...

Dancing the Night Away…

The wedding of Susan and Eric was all about the gathering of family, friends and of course, music and dance. After the traditional pomp and service guests had Bay Bistro to themselves and just danced nonstop – not once was the dance floor empty! There was even a “flash mob” to Gangnam Style by some of the wedding guests… It was always a part of Susan’s “dream wedding” to have a choreographed piece of dance/music for her wedding. I bet she never expected it to be Gangnam Style. The bride and groom wanted to wear shoes so we made a boardwalk for them – unusually it wasn’t high heels that graced the aisle! Other fun details included little bottles of bubbles for guests to blow, and yummy chocolates hand made by Susan’s mum. A...

A rainy wedding day means good luck!

A rainy wedding day means good luck!

Destination weddings – particularly in the Caribbean – conjure up images of sun, sea and sand… Of course nobody wants it to rain on their wedding day, but just occasionally it happens. The good news is that if it does rain, usually it goes away as quickly as it came! Some of the most spectacular sunsets we have happen after a rain shower… A wedding planner will always have a back up plan in case wet weather looms, but in the case of Arielle and Ian they were not going to let a few drops spoil their plans for a beach wedding. See them smiling through the raindrops at Sibonne Beach Hotel and enjoying their reception at Bay Bistro, in pictures captured by...
