Rain Can’t Stop the Smiles
Johanna and Jim didn’t have the best weather for their wedding, with wind, cloudy skies and waves crashing onto Grace Bay, and even a bit of rain at the end of the ceremony, but everyone involved had smiles on their faces (apart from a brief struggle for Johanna’s bouquet, which ended well!). Although the conditions were not typical of usual sunny Turks and Caicos, we think the photos from Frank at Paradise Photography are wonderful – it is nice to see the island in a different light. Take a look for yourself below!
Unusual Groom Attire?
Brittany and Troy both work for the Philadelphia Phillies – Troy is actually the mascot, so we were curious to see how he would be dressed for their ceremony! Luckily he chose a more traditional option – it is rather hot for a furry outfit here… After a fun welcome dinner at Da Conch Shack, their wedding at the Gansevoort had so many lovely elements that came together to make the perfect day, and even had Brilliant Photography calling it a wedding that will go down in history – high praise indeed! Take a look here for photos. Congratulations again Brittany and Troy – it was an absolute pleasure to help make your day so special.
From Fridge to Eternity…
I have been looking at Kristen and Mark on my fridge for months, as they sent me a Save the Date magnet when they started their wedding planning! Time flew by and it was lovely to meet them in person for the start of their wedding celebrations. Their guests mingled during a relaxed welcome dinner at Da Conch Shack the night before the wedding, after which they headed back for a bonfire on the beach at the Sands… A liberal application of rum punch at dinner meant that most of the group decided they’d go for a late night swim in the sea! There was a threat of rain on the wedding day, but against all predictions not one drop fell. A spectacular sunset and amazing sky afterwards made for fabulous pictures, as you can see here, thanks to Ileana from...
The “Shhh’” Cake
Nazeema was (naturally!) excited about her upcoming wedding and had lots of plans for little details to enhance the day for her guests. Both her husband to be and I were very impressed with her organisational skills – her neatly labelled files were a planner’s delight! The one thing that was a surprise to Daniel was the groom’s cake that Nazeema sneakily ordered; she wanted to wow him with a replica of his favourite cigars. The “Shhh” cake looked amazing and tasted just as good… Nazeema wanted the ceremony on the west deck at Seven Stars to avoid getting her fabulous dress sandy – although Ileana persuaded her to have a few photos on the beach afterwards. The guests had cocktails at the east deck while reception was set...
Best Island in the World
TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards have named Providenciales – or Provo as we call it – the best island in the world. We knew it was already, of course – but if you didn’t have enough incentive to come and visit us before, you certainly do now! Imagine getting married on the best island in the world, on Grace Bay – the 2nd best beach in the world (see here for proof!) – pretty tough to beat that… See you soon?
Grace Bay Beach is Blushing!
Trip Advisor’s 2015 Travelers’ Choice Awards has once again confirmed that our beach is #2 beach in the world. In a rare interview after the announcement, Grace Bay beach tearfully gushed “I’m overwhelmed by the award and excited for this accolade, the second year in a row, among such worthy competitors. I’d like to thank the Parrot Fish for helping to make the beautiful, powdery sand that our visitors love to enjoy. Look out Baia do Sancho – I’ll beat you next year!”
