Are You the Appy Couple?

No, we haven’t gone all cockney on you! We are often asked for recommendations for wedding websites and we’ve just found appycouple – a great way to share all your wedding info, invitations, event news, gift registry… You can add great touches like how you met, who’s who in the wedding party, all in a gorgeous customisable app that can handle RSVPs for you as well! (I know – we’re starting to sound like an advert – but we really do love this app!) Take a look and let us know what you think!

A Beautiful Couple in a Beautiful Setting.

Lots of friends and family came from far and wide for Tracy & Jean’s wedding and thoroughly enjoyed the events! A sunset cruise followed by a beach barbecue got everyone mingling before the big day. We were a little worried about weather but as it turned out the rain stayed away. Some very happy faces and a stunning bride and groom – take a look here for the photos from Brilliant Studios.

How Far Would You Travel to Get Married on the Best Beach in the World?!

The Turks & Caicos Islands are very popular with visitors from the East coast of Canada and the USA – it’s just a short flight to leave the real world behind, lean back on a lounge chair in the soft, powdery sand, sip on a cocktail, gaze at the ocean and realise that all those brochures were not photoshopped; it really does look like that here… It’s not just East coast folks that come here though! In 2013 NILA Destinations helped couples plan weddings here from all over the globe, even Tasmania, Australia! Guests came from as far afield as China and Eastern Europe – and all said they planned to return. Take a look at this map to see where our couples have come from; and don’t let distance put you off saying ” I...

A new way to transport guests to your wedding in Turks & Caicos?!

Traditionally, guests at weddings in Turks & Caicos arrive by plane. Sometimes people arrive on a sailboat. But we’ve never had anybody come to the islands by kiteboard! Admittedly, that’s not happening now, either, but in late November 2013 a group of 6 kiteboarders are setting off from the Canary Islands in an attempt to cross the Atlantic by kiteboard. They plan to arrive between  7 and 15 December, to coincide with the opening of the Blue Haven Resort. You can take a look at the trip details here - and if you’re in the area, keep watching – there’ll be lots of festivities to celebrate their...

Dancing the Night Away…

The wedding of Susan and Eric was all about the gathering of family, friends and of course, music and dance. After the traditional pomp and service guests had Bay Bistro to themselves and just danced nonstop – not once was the dance floor empty! There was even a “flash mob” to Gangnam Style by some of the wedding guests… It was always a part of Susan’s “dream wedding” to have a choreographed piece of dance/music for her wedding. I bet she never expected it to be Gangnam Style. The bride and groom wanted to wear shoes so we made a boardwalk for them – unusually it wasn’t high heels that graced the aisle! Other fun details included little bottles of bubbles for guests to blow, and yummy chocolates hand made by Susan’s mum. A...

After a long wait…

After a long wait…

Various things consipred to postpone Amy & Greg’s wedding date a couple of times. When they finally arrived at Seven Stars they were very excited to enjoy their big day! A rain shower just before the ceremony cooled things down and gave us a wonderful sunset, which Jon from eyeSpice photography made the most of. A yummy red velvet cake from Caicos Bakery based on Amy’s favourite design went down well with all guests… I guess all good things really do come to those who wait!
