What to do while you’re in the Turks and Caicos Islands!
Busy doing nothing, working the whole day through…
We know there will be one day in particular when you are a bit occupied… But before or after the main event you might like to see what our beautiful island of Provo has to offer? We are happy to arrange activities for you and your guests to make sure you make the most of your time here, either individually or as a group. We at NILA Destinations can be pretty adventurous sometimes – you can bet we’ve tried all the activities here and we are ready to advise!
Of course, if you prefer to relax on Grace Bay – the best beach in the world – and sip cocktails, then that’s just fine too… (We NILA folks do that too… Occasionally…)
Kayak or paddleboard gently through the mangroves in our National Park and learn from knowledgeable guides on an ecological adventure.
The thrill of deep sea fishing, the gentler, guaranteed catch bottom fishing, or the skillful bone fishing – our waters can offer it all.
The 18 hole course at Provo Golf Club is ranked in the top ten for Caribbean courses… Come and play a round!
Enjoy a short flight over Provo, or a longer one over the neighbouring islands. Amazing views on this exhilarating excursion.
Ride down an empty beach on a horse at sunset – just like the movies! From first time in the saddle to advanced riders, everyone is welcome on this fun trip.
Comfortable and speedy boats will take you to see our native rock iguanas and then off to the reef to see our underwater animals! Half or full day trips.
Soar high above Grace Bay for a breathtaking view of the sea and beach. Two people can go together if you’re nervous!
Full day, half day or sunset cruises let you enjoy the sun and sea while relaxing on a beautiful catamaran. Snorkelling, or sailing to a deserted beach – a lovely way to spend some time.
Perhaps you’ve always wanted to try, or you are already a certified diver and can’t wait to explore? Clear, warm waters and pristine reefs make this a dive experience you shouldn’t miss.
With clear, warm waters and lots of fish waiting to meet you at the reef you should definitely grab a mask and fins while you’re here. The best snorkelling is on a boat trip but there are a few good areas right offshore – we’ll be happy to advise you!
If you enjoy snorkelling but aren’t quite ready for SCUBA diving yet, try SNUBA! After a short briefing you can be up to 20 feet underwater with a guide – right there with the fish!
Both great fun here and with talented guides to assist you, you’ll be on your feet in no time!
If you are here for full moon you might be in time to see the Glo Worms! Two – six nights after full moon a mesmerizing phenomenon occurs. After sunset the marine worm Odontosyllis performs an unusual mating ritual. The sparkling show starts with the females spiralling to the surface emitting a pulsating green luminescence as they release an egg mass. The male, glowing as well, does a zig zag dance until he encounters these eggs, darts around in the mass causing an even brighter glow. He then dies and sinks to the bottom of the sea. (Hey – we didn’t say it was fair.)
